Community Impact This Quarter
Thanks to your generosity, we have been able to:
Terrific Kids Program- Support 22 elementary school youth leadership programs that help kids grow into tomorrow’s community leaders.
Gibsonton Elementary Food Pantry – Feed local families in need through our partnership with Mosaic and Feeding Tampa Bay at Gibsonton Elementary Community School – During the 2024-25 year our impact:More than 212, 565 lbs. of food to the community; 59,869.19 lbs this fiscal year.
Key Club – High School Leadership and Service Programs -Armwood, Lennard, and Sumner High Schools have been an instrumental component in participating in civic projects with the Greater Brandon Kiwanis to include Little Free Library Week in Ruskin, Florida and the Seffner Mango Library Storywalk as well as others.
Seffner Mango Library Storybook Walk – Change books monthly story featured in English and Spanish – works on literacy in a fun way while walking around a beautiful outdoor park via 18 story pages.
Kiwanis Kicks – We’re here to help ensure every child can walk towards success. Annually we purchase shoes for children who are in need via the school guidance counselor.
Bookworks Program – The Goodwill Industry Bookworks Program is an early childhood literacy encouragement program. Through this program, Kiwanis volunteer readers present an age-appropriate book during story time to the young students and gift a book to each student in attendance to take home as their own. The goal of this program is to nurture and encourage a love for reading and listening to stories to help the young students grow into strong readers and better students.
The Kiwanis Club of Greater Brandon, Florida was established in May 1960. Since then, Kiwanians continue to serve the Greater Brandon community, especially its children, through numerous community programs. Our members and volunteers are passionate about making an impact in the lives of our community’s children-our future.
